Blessings Box

Recurring Projects and Spotlighted Programs

This wonderful organization is a FCC Plano favorite and is a valuable resource within Collin County. They help unemployed and under-employed families and individuals get back on their feet, in many different ways. These include job training, counseling, tax help, and rent help. They also help with English as Second Language classes.
Assistance Center is always in need of volunteers in all capacities. The center is just three short blocks from FCC Plano, and is a friendly, supportive environment . . . plus training is provided. Please consider volunteering your time, or needed supplies. For volunteer opportunities, please contact Yvonne Booker at 972-422-1850 for additional information or find an application online at www.assistancecenter.org.

Shoes for Orphan Souls

A ministry of Buckner International  has distributed more than 20 million pairs of new shoes to vulnerable children in the United States and to orphans in 74 countries around the world. Orphanages do not receive enough funding to support the children in their care. One of the greatest and most immediate needs is a pair of shoes. Many of the children receive one pair of shoes to last the entire year, and some don’t have shoes at all.
VBS COLLECTION OF SHOES – During Vacation Bible School, our children collect new shoes to donate to Shoes for Orphan Souls
Hundreds of shoes are donated each year, and we always aim to increase that number. We hope you’ll help!
Every Spring!
In addition to physical participation in the projects listed above, FCC Plano contributes financially to several organizations in the Plano and surrounding areas. Find direct links to these organization’s volunteer pages below:

Give what you can. Take what you need. Above all, be Blessed!
Our box is up and running! Everyone is invited to help keep filled. Non-perishable foods, cans with pop tops, socks, undies, gloves, soap, deodorant…you get the idea. Leave in the box, or bring to the front office. We hope ANY of our neighbors will take what helps. Our only wish is that we have something needed, and that God will lead them to what they need.
First Christian Church Plano’s Outreach team prays that God not only leads those that need just a little something to our box, but Outreach prays that God will keep those in need safe, healthy, back on their feet, and ALWAYS in God’s loving hand!

We pray these supplies get to those that need

Give what you can. Take what you need. Above all, be Blessed!
We are well on our way to having the Blessings Box installed and running, for our friends in the neighborhood who just might need a little something extra. Anyone can put as little as 1 can of food or pair of socks, or as much as you can. Anyone can grab what they need, when they need. This box is here to serve your needs!
2018 Point In Time Homeless Census
As a hot spot for the Collin County Homeless Coalition
, we took part in the National homeless census. We were one of 4 hot spots in Plano. Gave drinks and snacks, as well as care packs for our neighbors. Thanks to all that helped in this very important day, as this gives the counties and cities their funds to helps all those in need.
Need a service project for your cub scouts? Does your high schooler need volunteer hours? Are you looking for a way to serve the community or beyond? This is why we are here! Always remember, we are here to not only spread the Word, but to be the Word. To use our gifts to serve, as Jesus served.
“Even as the Son of Man came not to  be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom to many.” Matthew 20:28
