FCC Plano youth head out on a mission trip every summer! During the summer, CYF (9-12th grade) serve nationally and globally. We have traveled to various places including Colorado, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Belize. We envision ourselves traveling out of the country for mission work once every 4 years, while staying in the U.S. the other 3 years. We do this so that each youth might have the chance to help serve in another country at least once during their high school career.
During Spring break each year, we don’t take a mission trip, but we do take multiple mission outings each year. Chi Rho (6-8th grade) and CYF (9-12th grade) youth can spend their break serving locally and regionally. We try to focus on our immediate surroundings. This gives us the opportunity to connect with our community and build relationships that reach beyond one week. Mission work – serving these least of these in humility and with the love of Christ – is a great and beautiful time to experience the gift of God’s goodness and grace.
Summer Mission Trip 2019 – WE’RE HEADED TO BROWNSVILLE, TX
June 9 – July 16, 2019
Southwest Good Samaritan Ministry
Acts 2:43-47
Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need. Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.
We too are called to be the living breathing hands and feet of Christ in the world – giving to any as they have need. We will have a chance to do that!
